Haub Law will honor four Shining Stars at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law’s 29th Annual Law Leadership Awards Dinner on March 14. The Shining Star Awards recognize up-and-coming leaders in the Haub Law alumni community. These awards celebrate Haub Law alumni in all areas of legal practice who have made significant contributions to the profession, their organizations, and the community early in their careers.

Leigh Ellis '15 is an assistant professor at Creighton University School of Law where she joined the faculty in 2023. During her time at Haub Law, she received the Most Promising Haub Law Student Award, the Dean's Award, and the Vanessa Merton Public Service Award. Professor Ellis' law school career culminated with her participating in Chief Justice Lippman’s Pro Bono Scholars Program, which allowed her to take the New York bar exam while still in law school and then dedicate the remainder of her spring semester to working full-time in the Children’s Advocacy Unit at Legal Services of the Hudson Valley. Prior to joining the faculty, Professor Ellis worked as a public defender in Douglas County, Nebraska.
Colin Myers ‘21 is a corporate associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP. In this role, he supports the sustainability office and environmental, social, and governance (“ESG”) teams of a leading alternative asset manager by performing ESG due diligence for transactions by managed funds, responding to ESG due diligence questionnaires from current and prospective fund investors, and reviewing ESG marketing materials. Prior to joining Paul, Weiss, Colin Myers began his career as a senior consultant in the ESG advisory group at FTI Consulting, Inc. Colin graduated from Haub Law with a dual degree JD/MBA. While at Haub Law, Colin Myers participated in the Federal Judicial Honors Program and was Managing Editor of the Pace Environmental Law Review. He remains active in the Pace community, serving on the advisory board of the Haub Law’s Sustainable Business Law Hub and as a guest speaker.
Scott Wenzel ’17 is a senior associate at Yankwitt LLP. Formerly a professional cyclist on the Geox-Fuji Test Team based in Belgium, Scott brings his competitive spirit to the practice of law, advocating for clients in the New York and New Jersey state and federal courts, private arbitrations, and mediations. While a student at Haub Law, Scott Wenzel served as managing editor of the Pace Environmental Law Review, was a research assistant to Professor Emily Gold Waldman, and a research assistant to Professor Leslie Y. Garfield Tenzer; he also interned for the Honorable Patty Schwartz of the U.S. Circuit Court for the Third Circuit and the Honorable Cathy Seibel of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Venesha White '22 is an associate at Dorf Nelson & Zauderer in the Commercial Litigation Department. Prior to joining Dorf Nelson & Zauderer, Venesha was a legal intern at the New Rochelle Criminal Court; she was also an intern at the Legal Services of Hudson Valley, Sanctuary for Families, and FUJIFILM Holdings America Corporation. Prior to starting her legal career, she held several research positions at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Venesha graduated from Haub Law with an Advanced Certificate in Health Law and Policy with a focus on Anti- Bribery, Kickback and Corruption. She also served as Submissions Editor for the Pace International Law Review.
