 Alumni and Friends Attend the Spirit of Pace Awards Dinner  

400 alumni and friends attended the Spirit of Pace Awards Dinner at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City on Wednesday, June 10, 2015. Guests were treated to an a cappella version of “Cabaret” from the evening’s legendary master of ceremonies, Joel Grey. Congratulations again to the 2015 award recipients!

 Dyson Students and Faculty Contribute to UN Nuclear Treaty Review
Pace students and faculty have been involved in the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference now meeting at the United Nations in New York. A member of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons praises Pace as "a leader in the field, teaching the theory and practice of disarmament in a way that is both meaningful for students and beneficial to society…More institutions should follow its example.”

 MCVA Pace Coral Project Lauded in National Blog
Waitt Institute executive director Ayana Elizabeth Johnson praised the Pace Coral documentary by Dyson MCVA students in a National Geographic blog. “All of you readers, please watch and share this well-told story of hope – not just hope for the reefs, but also for the future of journalism,” Johnson said of students and their film.

Honors College Names Founding Dean


Susan Dinan, PhD, has been named the Founding Dean of the Pforzheimer Honors College at Pace University. As of August 2015, Dean Dinan will spearhead the articulation, development, and implementation of a comprehensive vision that positions the Honors College as a first choice destination for high-achieving high school students.

 Lubin Takes First Place in Business Analytics Competition

Lubin BBA in Quantitative Business Analysis students, Zhengyu (Ryan) Tang, Bin Bin Chen, and Clive Cadillo, placed first in the Business Analytics Conference and Competition at Manhattan College in May. More than a dozen teams competed in the two-phase contest that was judged by a panel of faculty advisers and practitioners. Other winners included Clarkson University and University of San Francisco. The Lubin team earned the grand prize of $2,000 and an invitation to submit a paper to a peer-reviewed journal. Dr. Janice Winch, associate professor, management and management science, advised the team.

Catherine Zimmer Book on Surveillance and Cinema Published
Associate Professor of English and director of Film and Screen Studies, Catherine Zimmer, has had published the book Surveillance Cinema. In it, she examines how technology and ideology have converged in cinematic form to play a role in the politics of surveillance. She also reflects on the relationship between TV and film, the current political landscape and daily imagery of anxiety, suspicion, war, and torture.

Pace Athletics Lands 191 Student-Athletes on Spring 2015 NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll
The Northeast-10 Conference released their Spring 2015 Commissioner's Honor Roll today recognizing student-athletes that earned at least a 3.0 grade point average. Pace Athletics placed 191 student-athletes on the list, which accounts for just over 59% of the student-athlete population. That number is up 3% from last semester's Fall 2014 NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll.
